Oksana Hahn was born in Kiev, Ukraine, to the family of a well-known professional choral conductor. At an early age, she began violin and piano lessons. At age 7 she was enrolled in the "Mukola Lysenko Special Music School for Gifted Youth" in Kiev where she completed their 11-year program. This was followed by a further 5 years of studies at the Kiev Tchaikovsky State Conservatory (University status) where she specialized in piano solo, chamber music and pedagogy. Among her teachers were Irina Lipatova, Evgeny Rjanov, and Aleksander Muravsky. While studying at the Conservatory, Oksana became a 2nd prize winner as accompanist at the International Choir Competition in Varna, Bulgaria in 1988. In 1989, she became a laureate of Kiev's Youth Piano Competition. Before immigrating to Canada at age 23, Oksana had performed in Ukraine, Russia, the Baltic Republics, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria.

Arriving in Edmonton in 1990, she very quickly established herself as a performer, teacher and accompanist. Oksana appeared in a series of concerts as a soloist with well-known musicians Marek Jablonski, Joseph Fridman and Tanya Prochazka at the University of Alberta. In 1991, she performed a Solo program of the works of Mozart at the Mozartmania Festival in Edmonton, for the 200th year commemoration of Mozart's death. During the next few years, Oksana continued performing as a piano-duet musician with Michel Rose at Convocation Hall, University of Alberta and Muttart Hall, Alberta College Conservatory of Music, while also taking private consultations and playing for master classes with Paul Badura-Skoda, Marek Jablonski, Josef Fridman and Alexandra Munn. Her dedication to excellence in music resulted in a large and committed group of students at the Faculty of Alberta College Conservatory of Music. In 1999, she was selected to be official accompanist for the finals at the Canadian Music Competition in Edmonton, Alberta.

In 2000 Ms. Hahn moved to the Greater Toronto Area. In the same year, she began teaching privately and established the "Elite Piano Studio" in the Durham region, with the goal of helping students find and nurture their passion for music. She offers her students opportunities to participate in master classes, recitals, and workshops while preparing for competitions and exams. During the years of 2003-2004, Ms. Hahn had the privilege of studying with legendary Toronto-based pianists Boris Zarankin and Inna Perkis. Her knowledge of piano repertoire is broad, from beginner to advanced levels, including the major piano concertos, many of which she has performed herself.  During the rewarding 26 years of her teaching career, many of her students have won top prizes, special awards and scholarships at the Kiwanis Festivals (in Edmonton, Oshawa and Toronto), Yip's Music Festival, Peel Music Festival, Richmond Hill Arts Festival, North York Music Festival and the Canadian Music Competition. All Elite Piano students have successfully completed RCM examinations and strive to achieve "honours" and "distinction" in their practical and theory exam results.

Ms. Hahn is an active member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association where she served as Vice President of the Ajax Pickering branch for many years. She maintains active participation and music leadership in several local churches. Under her guidance, many concerts have been organized and she volunteers as an accompanist for a number of choirs. Ms. Hahn is currently the Music Director at Pickering Village United Church, Pickering, Ontario. She lives in Ajax with her husband Richard and they are busy parents of 3 children. She enjoys gardening, playing badminton and going for walks with her 14 year-old daughter and their dog Shahla.
